Recently, Dawood Global Foundation, in collaboration with LADIESFUND and Educate a Girl, successfully held training sessions for 150 female engineers focused on sustainability, alternative energy, and reducing carbon footprints. This initiative, part of the UNSDG training program, aimed to equip participants with vital skills to address pressing environmental challenges. The training was conducted in partnership with several esteemed organizations, including the German Consulate General in Karachi, EY, Climate Promise, UNDP, KPW, and develop. Together, these partners provided valuable insights and expertise, enhancing the overall learning experience for the attendees.

The program not only empowered female engineers by expanding their knowledge in critical areas of sustainability but also encouraged them to take an active role in creating innovative solutions for a greener future. The successful completion of this training marked a significant milestone in promoting gender equality in the engineering field and contributing to sustainable development goals. Through this collaborative effort, the Dawood Global Foundation and its partners demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering female leadership in the sustainability sector, paving the way for a more environmentally conscious generation of engineers.

This initiative, titled “Educate a Girl,” aimed to empower participants by equipping them with essential skills for their personal and professional development. The training sessions covered a variety of vocational skills, fostering confidence and enhancing employability among the attendees. By focusing on practical knowledge and hands-on experience, the program aimed to create pathways for economic independence and success.

The initiative not only provided valuable skills to young women but also highlighted the importance of education and empowerment in transforming communities. The successful completion of this training marked a significant step forward in promoting gender equality and supporting the aspirations of girls and young women across the country. Through this collaborative effort, Dawood Global Foundation and its partners demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering female empowerment, paving the way for a brighter future for the next generation.

Separate trainings for women entrepreneurs were successfully held by Dawood Global Foundation in collaboration with LADIESFUND, who spearheaded the “LADIESFUND Buraq Builders” initiative. Sponsored by Bank Islami, Bank Alfalah, and Albaraka Bank, this program aimed to empower female entrepreneurs with essential skills for business growth and sustainability.

In partnership with the State Bank of Pakistan, the training sessions focused on critical areas such as budgeting, entrepreneurship, scaling businesses, and securing funding. These workshops provided participants with valuable insights and practical knowledge, equipping them to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship effectively.

The initiative not only fostered a supportive community among women entrepreneurs but also emphasized the importance of financial literacy and strategic planning in achieving business success. The successful completion of these trainings marked a significant milestone in promoting female entrepreneurship and empowering women to take charge of their economic futures.

Through the LADIESFUND Buraq Builders initiative, Dawood Global Foundation and its partners demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing the capabilities of women entrepreneurs, paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic business landscape.

Currently, the Dawood Global Foundation is training 1,200 youth, with 50% of the participants being female, from the interior regions of Sindh, including Dadu, Larkhana, Mirpurkhas, and Tando Allahyar. This initiative, titled “Sustainable Shaheens of Sindh,” focuses on providing vocational training in various essential skills.

The training program encompasses a diverse range of subjects, including beekeeping, digital literacy, fuel-efficient cooking, organic farming, dehydrated fruit and vegetable processing, and water harvesting techniques. By equipping participants with these skills, the foundation aims to foster sustainable livelihoods and enhance the economic prospects of communities in Sindh.

The Dawood Global Foundation's efforts have garnered recognition, as they recently won a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This partnership underscores the importance of their work and the positive impact they are making in the region.

Through the “Sustainable Shaheens of Sindh” initiative, the foundation not only empowers youth but also promotes environmental sustainability and community resilience, paving the way for a brighter future.

Recently, ten talented youths from seven universities in Karachi were invited by the Dawood Global Foundation to embark on an enriching study tour in Northern Pakistan, specifically in Skardu, Gilgit, and Hunza. This initiative was spearheaded by the foundation in collaboration with Albaraka Bank, focusing on themes of longevity, the Pakistan-China border, the remarkable courage of K2 porters, and a comprehensive exploration of the region's unique landscape and terrain.

The study tour provided these students with a firsthand experience of the stunning beauty and cultural richness of Northern Pakistan. They engaged in insightful discussions and activities that highlighted the region's significance, both geographically and historically.

Currently, the participants are on a tour of road shows, sharing their experiences and newfound knowledge with a broader audience. This initiative not only aimed to educate the youth but also sought to foster a deeper appreciation for the natural and cultural heritage of Pakistan's northern regions.

In a significant initiative, the Dawood Global Foundation recently trained youth from some of the most remote and dangerous areas of Pakistan, including Dera Bugti, Laki Marwat, and Jhal Magsi. This "Digital Literacy Training" program, held in Karachi and sponsored by Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), aimed to equip participants with essential digital skills.

The foundation's effort not only focused on skill development but also included a commitment to guaranteed job placement in Karachi for all participants upon completion of the training. This program represented a vital opportunity for these young individuals to enhance their employability and integrate into the digital economy.

By providing access to quality training and future job opportunities, the Dawood Global Foundation took a significant step towards empowering youth from challenging backgrounds, fostering hope and potential for a brighter future.
