Recently, LADIESFUND successfully spearheaded the “LADIESFUND Buraq Boot Camp,” an initiative aimed at empowering female tech and chef entrepreneurs. Sponsored by Alfalah Bank and conducted in partnership with several esteemed organizations, including the Canadian High Commission, the German Consulate General in Karachi, the State Bank of Pakistan, the Clinton Foundation, and the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network, this boot camp focused on training participants in sustainability and scaling their businesses.
The program attracted a diverse group of female entrepreneurs, providing them with essential skills and knowledge to thrive in their respective fields. Notable partnerships with organizations such as EY, Climate Promise, UNDP, KPW, developpp, Befiler, Planet N, and the Canada Pakistan Business Council enriched the training experience, offering valuable insights into best practices and innovative strategies.
During the boot camp, Samir Dossal had the opportunity to introduce DGF President Tara Uzra Dawood to Wendy Cukier of the Diversity Institute at the Ted Rogers School of Management. This connection fostered collaboration and highlighted the importance of supporting diversity in entrepreneurship.
The LADIESFUND Buraq Boot Camp represented a significant step forward in promoting female empowerment and entrepreneurship, equipping women with the tools they needed to create sustainable and impactful businesses.
The 8th LADIESFUND Sustainability Luncheon was held by Dawood Global Foundation in partnership with UNDP Pakistan at the British Deputy High Commission. The event brought together 200 dynamic women leaders, entrepreneurs, microentrepreneurs, and talented individuals to engage in active debate and discussion on the crucial topic of “Climate and Gender” in Pakistan.
Attendees participated in meaningful conversations that highlighted the intersections between climate change and gender issues, exploring how women can play a pivotal role in addressing environmental challenges. The luncheon served as a platform for sharing insights, experiences, and strategies to empower women in the face of climate-related challenges.
The successful event not only facilitated networking among participants but also fostered a sense of community and collaboration among women committed to sustainable development. The discussions underscored the importance of integrating gender perspectives into climate action, aiming to create a more equitable and sustainable future.
